Enjoy-Crete are offering an opportunity to learn the major skills of Sea Kayaking including rescue skills combined with a great holiday in a superb destination.

Group Size: 3-15 participants. 

Included: Welcome meeting on arrival day, evening with a short tour around the city of Heraklion. Five days sea kayaking, guidance, instruction from BCU qualified staff and all equipment along with a CD with pictures from the trip.

Course Itinerary:
This course covers all criteria of the British Canoe Union [BCU] Level 3 Sea syllabus. For your convenience there is a down loadable link on our website for you to obtain a copy of this. Just click here to download the file.

Day 1: Arrival Day. Discussion of program for your sea kayaking course, activities and holiday. Short walk around the city centre for introductions.

Day 2: The group will have an introduction to the basic skills of sea kayaking. After lunch the firt outing will take place; a planned journey along the coastline of north Crete. Later in the day the group will practce some rescue skills.

Day 3: At the day the group will explore some small bays to practice navigation. After lunch you will be
introduced to more essential sea kayaking skills including further rescue and recovery. In the
evening before dinner we will take some time to practice navigation, weather, route planning and safety for sea kayaking. The group will paddle around 8km this day.

Day 4: Activities will be in two parts. In the morning we will concentrate on improving our
sea kayaking skills .In the afternoon we will continue to practice and develop our sea kayaking
skills, with deep water rescues.

Day 5: The group will paddle on the south coastline of Crete for at least 4-5 hours (around 20km). This trip is counting towards your 3 star sea assessment.

Day 6: Group will practice and improve our skills associated with personal safety, rescue, group
rescue and rolling.

Day 7.  Assessment day. You will journey on the sea for around 6 hours and put into practice all you have learned and discovered during the course.

Price: 550€. The cost of BCU certification issue is included in the price. After the assessment which is also included in the price, all successful candidates will be issued with a BCU proforma, this will then be submitted to the BCU for certification issue for each person.
