4 Days South Chania by Svein Tore

Below you will find a review for our 4 days kayaking trip in Crete, Greece in south Chania. The review exist on both English and Norwegian as written from our client Svein Tore during our 4 days sea kayaking journey in Crete.

We have had four great days with ‘Enjoy-Crete”. We are two couples from Norway, in our early fifties and with some experience of sea kayaking, mostly on calm seas.

We booked the trip “Four days South of Chania” with “Enjoy-Crete”, initially as a camping trip using tents for sleeping at night. However the trip was arranged so that we got to stay in small hotels or tavernas; this was a little more difficult for the organizers who had to take into account the changing wind and weather conditions for each day as well as the distances between each overnight accommodation.

As it happened this was all achieved in a very professional and friendly manner and we were kept fully informed about different options available to us in respect of route choice and accommodation. The weather in south Crete meant that there were usually waves during the afternoon but we felt comfortable paddling in these conditions from the first day; we felt safe and our safety was emphasized at all times.

We would heartily recommend this tour and this company. Stelios who runs the firm is an accomplished kayaker and a good instructor who emphasizes that clients should thrive and experience a great tour. Our paddling improved thanks to a lot of good instruction including practicing rescues both on flat seas and in waves.

We also enjoyed some wonderful scenery with sunrises, paddling in caves and crystal blue seas. There was also time to go a little on tour for those who wanted it. We explored some old churches and castle ruins, and hiked into a gorge. Please feel free to contact us by mail with any inquiries about our experiences on this trip.
